The calendering unit with joint drive with laminating unit consists of chrome plated calendering roller and hard rubber coated counter pressure roller mounted in a heavy frame.

The counterpressure roller is adjustable from difficult papers to heavy cardboard.

The calendering roller is getting cleaned from the spray powder by a doctor blade. Pressure of calendering roller is pneumatically adjustable by a pressure gauge.

Part III: LAMINATING UNIT WITH FILM UNROLLING, GLUE COATING UNIT,

LAMINATING CALENDER AND SHEET SEPARATOR

a) Adhesive coating unit 

consisting of 5 rollers, three of them hard chrome plated, one rubber roller.

With automatic tension control of the film and automatic movement of the coating unit in off-position.

Adjustable electronically controlled metering roller, film guiding and tear control.

b) Automatic adhesive feeding, heating and dosing system

c) Adhesive distribution system with easy interchangeable distributing rollers

Heatable dosing and application rollers, permitting the operation at a temperature of up to 90° C as well as the cooling of the rollers for the cleaning operation. The system permits an application of 2 - 5 g/m2 adhesive at a processing temperature of 70 - 90° C. Side adjustable wedges with scrapers to adapt the adhesive distribution to the film width.

Covered by an aspiration hood with tube connection to an extraction fan (customer's supply).

d) Film laminating roller

consisting of a heatable, chrome plated steel roller and a rubbered counterpressure roller. The laminating calender has an adjustable pressure of up to 300 kp (or 150 kp each side).

e) Sheet separator

Positioning immediately after laminating and separates the film before curing. The film separation is done by means of a programmable heated hot knife. The repeating of the separation is done with a tolerance of < ±  1 mm and is automatically set according to sheet length.

In case of non separation, the machine automatically switches to minimum speed after the 2nd sheet following and indicates the error. If the operator takes no action the machine automatically stops the 3rd sheet.

Part IV: SHEET STACKER

In case of sheet jam, the machine switches off automatically. 

Including sheet profiling and sheet brake.

Part V: ELECTRONIC GUIDING AND CONTROL SYSTEM

The machine is equipped with a test value and a programmable surveying system. At various locations of the machine there are surveying sensors which at certain irregularities prevent the starting of the machine

The operator gives the input of the sheet dimensions for the feeder and the alignment unit as well as for the separator knife. The program guides by indicating which functions are required. Without following these guidelines a start is not possible.

When all parameters are complied, the machine starts and surveys the whole work process via the sensors.

When during operation of the machine irregularities occur (from feeder to stacker) the machine either slows down to minimum speed or stops in a way that the last sheet stops in the laminating unit and the film is without adhesive.

The operator e.g. clears the faulty sheet and confirms this in the system, consecutively the machine can be started again.

For work safety and quality, faulty sheets, double sheets, last sheet from stacker, not separated sheets, are not properly stacked sheets are surveyed.

Installation and start-up of the machine

By a specialist of Higher includes the positioning of the machine at the final place of  installation, the assembly of the individual components, the supervision of the connection of electricity, air and water  and the start-up of the machine.

On request of the Higher specialist, the customer makes available, free of charge, 1 to 2 workers to help with the assembly of the machine.

Not included in the services of Higher is the transport of the machine from the place of discharge to the final place of installation.

Guarantee 

The output of the line and the quality of laminating depend on the following factors:

- Thickness, quality and running direction of the sheet

- Temperature and humidity of the sheets and the environmental air

- Type and temperature of adhesive

- Type, quality and powdering of the printing inks
